I have also been dealing with “eczema”” on my hands for almost three years now. My dermatologist says it is eczema and theres not much I can do about it other than using steroid creams. I currently use Embeline E cream. It helps but comes right back after I stop using it. It is a strong steroid so it can only be used up to two weeks at a time. I have also tried oral steroids, but they did nothing. The creams do not help the dryness. It seems to run a cycle. First I get these tiny, clear, itchy spots on my fingers, palms, and the sides of my hands. Then they start cracking. Usually they are very deep, painful cracks that do not bleed(on occasion they do). Then the skin starts dying and peeling. It is an awful thing to deal with. I lose a lot of sleep because the itching is so intense. It started when I was 23 years old. My doctor says it is hereditary. I am looking for a new dermatologist that has a lot more knowledge on whatever type of eczema this is. I have seen a couple other doctors in my area, and they have never seen this before.
