When I had mono, at first I thought it was strep throat, but when penecillin had no effect they took a blood test and found out that it was mono. I only had noticable symptoms for about two or three weeks, and the most prominant thing was that I had a throat that was so painfully swollen I could barely eat… (I ended up losing 10 pounds!) I noticed no unusual fatigue (besides that I couldn’t properly sleep at night from the pain) and I felt more or less better after about three weeks of that. Of course, I was pregnant at the time and maybe that masked some of the long-term symptoms. I certainly have heard of people being tired for a half a year, but never anything as long as an entire year and a half!
