Thrush is an oral candida yeast growth. It is painful and will make feeding difficult. There are multiple treatments, most of them bent on destroying the candida without treating the immune system of the child. I see mothers who have recurrent symptoms, swapping the infection back and forth between mother’s breast and child’s mouth. Yeast grows in sugar, so avoiding sugar is one good step.
