I also have been diagnosed having PTSS (Was treated for PTSS, now they say there is no such thing, only PTSD?)

Anyway, regarding this issue, Ifor over 19 yrs, they tryed me on everything, & the only thing that helped me, was Valuim, w/therapy sessions, or a good support system from family/friends along w/medication in most cases if therapy isn’t a option.

Many think everyone can afford therapy, it is very expensve, & once your insurance maxs out..you find your therapists are more concerned about your bill, then your mental well being.

Which causes PTSS/PTSD victims even more trouble, now we have to worry about money, hardships, & there is always that question in the back of your mind..does this Dr. care aboutme? Or just my money?

Most Drs. disagree w/the good old stand by valuim, trying many other mind drugs that in later yrs, we find out are more dangerous taking them, then not.

Everything is addicting, & that shouldn’t be an issue when trying to help a PTSS?PTSD victim. Later, if a person can overcome this tragic & horrifying thing they don’t even know how they got. (at least most don’t). Then getting off the medication can be dealt with.

If your husband ishaving problems w/his medications, go to a Dr. who still doesn’t have a problem giving him just valuim along w/his therapy.

As for understanding it, so you can help him. That is very important, I wish all family & friends , anyone who is in that persons life would seek out information, to be there for that person. Once a anxiety attack hits, & it hits full force w/no warnings. The victim has to ‘ride’ it out. There is no stopping it once it starts.

I have been a victim for over 20 yrs, & to this day, my family doesn’t understand it, & worst yet, not any physicians to care for me physically understand it, they fear it, placing me in a catagory of a person who might attack the, or something,.we become further victimized.

Don’t feel badly for not understnading it, most, if not all, reg. Drs. have no idea what it is, or what to do w/ a patient who has it who comes into thier office.

It is a very misunderstood problem, no wonder most PTSS/PTSD victims never recover.

Thank you for letting me state my voice.

I hope it helped a little.

Just like AAA, we should have a goverment ran/free clinic for not only military victims of this, but people who never went to war.

Just my 2 cents worth…
