I really do agree with your thoughts here. I am a student of Clayton College working on my masters of Holistic Nutrition and can honestly say the classes are very informative and just as challenging as the courses I took at a “normal”” university. It’s all about what you put into it and what you want to get out of it. There are bad people doing things they shouldn’t be doing in ALL parts of medicine and using a correspondence school for education on these modalities does not mean one will go out into the world and try to practice as an unlicensed ND or MD. That seems to be the main concern about the students coming out of schools like Bastyr, etc. Funny, MDs find some of these folks to be quacks regardless of the license or not. Personally, the other students I’ve been in contact with through Clayton College are most interested in leading a healthy lifestyle and looking for ways and the education to do so.
