I have been searching for something on facial numbness and throat tightness. About three months ago I began tapering off of Paxil (was taking 60 mg). I did 10 mg and would do that for two weeks before dropping. I just recently got down to 2.5 mg per day and I started getting tightness in the throat and numbness on the right side of my face. I really wondered if in fact it was the paxil because (1) it is such a small dosage and (2) other symptoms I experieced from the withdrawal were nausea and irritability. I am wondering ifI should go back to the 10mg to see if that takes care of the problem. I had been on Paxil for five or more years and wanted to get rid of the 60 pounds gained. If anyone has similar experience, please let me know.
