I would suggest looking locally for an apprenticeship, classes or a program in herbal medicine, homeopathy, or chinese medicine. While the distance learning schools provide the credential, educated consumers will likely find you and your entire education suspect if you claim to be an N.D. and then need to backtrack and tell them you got your degree via distance. It boils down to personal credibility and what you feel comfortable with. I just dealt with a successful health consultant in this state that kind of went crazy and bought herself about eight diplomas online, including a “doctor of medicine”” degree. All probably cost her fifty dollars apiece, but now the fact she has a legitimate PhD is suspect, and she’s in trouble with the state. I also deal with some very legitimate lay herbalists who really know their stuff and provide excellent service without any credential. Go for the knowledge.
