A reply to the anonymous entry about Naturopathic programs. I DO understand that universities have higher hours required. Not desiring to be a universtiy, ALL of our courses are on natural health and healing. Many schools are teaching a “bridge” of Allopathic Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine. We are not interested in being a school of “Alternative Therapy”. Students who attend our Naturopathic Institute will learn TRUE Naturopathy and that their methods are not the alternative but the orginal method of healing.

There is a need for the schools that offer the 5600 hour courses, hopefully they can educate the allopathic field and bring them closer to true health instead of “practicing medicine” on the suffering people of this country.

Unfortunately if you are using Allopathic diagnostic tools, blood testing, X-rays, and alike, and use the model of health that has the goal elivating symptoms rather than a higher level of health that is far from disease, then you are not practicing Orthodoxed Naturopathy, and you very well may need more hours of training to properly perform your duties.

Since our course teaches nothing that is dangerous or high tech in its nature our complete course does not require as many hours.

Naturopathic Institute courses ARE NOT an at home program, you must attend in person and students must complete both supervised and non supervised practical application. Students must pass vigorus testing at the end of each class and at the end of each year. The yearly final exam takes 3 days to complete and lasts 20 hours. The final exam at the end of the 4 year program takes 6 days of practical testing, written exams, presenting a research project, and oral testing before a board of instructors and directors.

We do agree that more than just a few quick seminars is needed before you should be working in the Naturopathic feild. We founded this school to provide training for people who do not want to be medical in their approach to health and who do not want to move their family to attend school. Many people discover this field later in life and simply can not pick up and move for several years. Our classes are schduled to allow you to travel here monthly to attend and receive the training and education required to be qualified to work in this field. The Doctor of the future will give no drugs, but be a good teacher.

Leave medicine to the medical field, emergencies to the EMT’s, and when it comes to health have a choice to see a caring professional. One who can identify the herb in the wild not just in a bottle, one that can teach you how to cook, inspire you emotionally and spiritually. One who knows how to listen, that has been trained in classes with 18 or less other students, one that understands partnership with the doctor, not submission. One that is required to continue their education and understands that health and a Naturpathic Doctor Diploma is not something that you pick like a flower but a lifetime path that you must follow. One that is a true Naturopath and has attended a school like the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education.

Sincerely,

Bessheen E. Baker

Co-founder of the Naturopathic Institute
