Being a Vegan myself i was set with the same question about a year back when i frist heard that same statement. It is undeniablly true that animals are used in the processing of refined sugar. this comes as a huge shock to those of us who thought that we were being “perfect vegans”” there is very few sugars that you can find that are not refined and be careful because some nutra-sweet sweetners are processed in the same fasion. Useing animals in the process of sugar is unnessary but it continues and we are forced to find an alturnative or just not eat sugar that isn’t strait from the cane. sorry that it is like that.
