I had no idea that effexor has affected so many people as horribly as it has affected me. I am so glad I found this website. I have been on effexor for about six years. I was put on it because I was told it would have a synergistic effect with the pain meds I am on for my Multiple Sclerosis. I stopped listening to MD’s solely the first time my primary physician said, “people with MS don’t have pain””. I’ve had to fight for 12 years to convince the pain management community that the pain is “”not in our heads””. Anyway after losing health insurance I, too could not afford to buy effexor xr. The withdrawal was so horrible I had to go back on it to feel normal. I try to get samples wherever I can just to stay on it. And to think they controlled opiates!
