Hello everyone, I am currently weaning myself off of effexor xr for the second time. I am down to 37.5 and I will continue to reduce it slowly. This has helped but NOT alleviated all of the withdrawal effects (I’ve had almost all of them mentioned on this website and other websites). I’ve read your experiences and interest in filing a lawsuit against Wyeth-Ayerst. I have an attorney that is investigating the facts for a potential class action suit. He needs to hear from you!!!! Please email him at [email protected] to tell him your experience with Effexor. We have been decieved and mislead and are suffering terribly because of it. At first I thought I was alone. I thought I was going crazy. Like you, I could not get a doctor to believe me or admit to me that what I was experiencing was a direct result of this drug. My life has been a turned upside down and this drug has turned me into a person that I do not know. It’s no coincidence that all of our experiences are almost identical. We are NOT crazy and there is hope. The best advice I can give you is if you experience any side effects/withdrawals, wean off very slowly (open the capsule and count the pellets, reducing the number you take gradually). As you reduce your dose let your body adjust to that level before you try to go down further. You will know when you start to stablize. For me it’s about 4 weeks at a time. Also, time it when your hormones are most likely to be stable. For me this is the first week after my period. I have learned to listen to my body and not the ignorant doctors. I know myself best. Read as much as you can about the drug. Have a plan and keep a daily journal. Remember, YOU have control and you do not have to agree with your doctor or comply with their demands. If you have a doctor that doesn’t listen, believe, or monitor you, PLEASE search until you find one that will. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE email my attorney to join my [email protected] or [email protected].
They need to answer to us. Good luck and God Bless us all. See you in court!
