This isn’t probably going to help anyone, but I started my withdrawal from Effexor XR about two weeks ago. The first week when dosage was cut in half I could deal with – a little lightheaded and anuseated. The second week, just this past week, I was in my local emergency room with severe lightheadedness, nausea, shaking, sweating, and the feeling of “shocks”” or “”zaps”” all over my body. I could barely walk. I’ve never felt worse. They gave me something for the nausea and sent me home. The good news – each day gets a little better. I’m still not back to normal, but getting there. My doctor advised that I go back on the half dosage. I’m not a doctor and don’t want to try to self-medicate, but I refuse to go back on Effexor XR. There’s got to be something better.
