Yes, keep us posted. I have been on Effexor of various dosages for 8 years and stumbled across these web sites while looking for something else about 3 days ago. Obviously, I am terrified but have started the weaning process. I tried to come off about 2 years ago but the one day I finally went w/o it, I honestly wanted to kill myself and I have NEVER been suicidal. I went back on it because I thought that my depression was SO BAD, it was better to just take the medicine. Now, after reading all of these posts, I realize that it wasn’t my depression at all…..it was just a side effect of this horrible medication. I feel so stupid that I never researched this. From what I have read, it doesn’t matter if you wean off slow or fast, the withdrawals will be just as bad. I plan to be off it completely in 2 weeks and am taking the 3rd week off from work just to deal with this. Wish me luck….will keep you posted.
