I went to a neurolgist about my body jerking when it relaxs. He does not know what is causing it yet but told me to go off of effexor in case it is a “weird”” side effect. I told him I could not go cold turkey because last summer I skipped two days and had vertigo and nausia, electrical zapping sensastions that made my face feel like it was vibrating, etc. He looked at me like I was crazy and gave me a beginner pack to go through backwards. One week at 75mg and the next at 37mg. By the second day the shock and vibrating sensations were back. By the third day I called in sick to work because I was so dizzy, nausious, emotional (being short tempered one minute and feeling like crying the next) and the electric vibration sensations were with every movement including talking too loud, moving my eyes, etc. Today is the third day off of effexor and I was really getting scared that it had done permanent damage to my brain. I went to the internet and finally found a website that is called “”Brain Zaps a journal of effexor withdrawl”” Thank goodness for this website. I am heartbroken to know others are or have experienced this but what a relief to know that it is withdrawls and not some kind of brain damage from this horrible medicine. Others have experienced every thing I am including the horrible dreams, vertigo, “”brain zaps”” Heart fluttering, etc, etc, etc.
