Okay, here goes…I’m at work and this is a long story, so I will make TRY to make this short! I have had chronic hives for 23 years! Yes it is miserable and no you are not crazy! But, you feel like you will go crazy because the itching is so bad. I have found a few things to help with the itching and one is the Bio Freeze that someone mentioned previously in this forum. my in-laws got it at the chiropractors office and had left some so I tried it and it does relieve the itching somewhat. The other thing I tried was peppermint oil from a natuaral food store. I put it in an automizer and spray it on and it turns cold/hot like the biofreeze and actually takes the itch out for quite a while. And you smell minty fresh too! I am on Zyrtec/atarax and have tried the diet etc. but, I just found some new info. I wonder if anyone has heard or done the blood test where they let the blood clot and it forms a clear liquid. The doctor takes that clear liquid that the blood formed and injects it into your skin, if you develop a hive than it is your body producing antibodies and in turn you are making your own hives instead of injesting food as the source it is your own bodies reaction to the antibodies. I am not sure about all of this but, am going to look into it. There are some specialists that deal with “Uticaria/immunology”” in Boston so am going to check them out and go for a consultation. 23 years is long enough!
