I just returned from seeing a new PCP who finally seemed to solve the mystery of some recent bizarre health concerns. Around 8-20, I discontinued taking Effexor and Remeron. Gained too much weight from the Remeron, and just didn’t want to take them anymore. 8-25, I eneded up in the emergency room with extreme weakness and fatique (unable to stand up), confusion (tried to run out of a moving car, fell to the pavement and went unconscious), irritability and combativeness (I fought my mother who was trying to get me to the hospital) – you get the picture. The hospital said my blood work was fine and I was fine – go home. Just today, this new doctor recognized the Effexor withdrawal symtoms and correlated them with the period in which I discontinued the Effexor. By the way, the hospital treated me as if I were a nuisance and a nut case.
