hi, i saw your post and thought i would respond. my mother just recently died of a combination of rheumatoid lung disease and pneumonia. the first thing your friend needs to do is find a very reputable rheumatoid doctor. there are several different medications that they can try and have much luck with. i know that in extreme cases chemotherapy is used to cease progression of the disease. please do be aware that any kind of pneumonia can be fatal to someone with this affliction and people with lung disease are more prone to pneumonia. great care is needed when they have ANY kind of respiratory infection, and they should see their doctor immediately. if there is anything else i can do to help, please feel free to email me.
