My mother is 82 and has just been diagnosed with Emphasema. She is a non smoker but has had asthma all her life. It has gotten worse in the past few years. Does asthma lead to emphasema? How are they different? Why wasn’t she diagnosed sooner? What is the prognosis for someone her age? How do they die?
