Dear AZmama121,
From the description, it sounds like a possible viral infection. It could also be allergic, and might even be due to the ingrowing of an eyelash. If it continues, it would be best to have a ped doctor look at it.
When dealing with viral infections with my patients, I generally treat the mother of the nursing infant rather than the infant directly because at six months the infant is still getting immune support from the mother.
