My son is eight and was put on Wellbutrin to deal with the symptoms of depression he was showing. He also takes Ritalin 30mg Long Acting. I thought his symptoms of depression were from coming down from the Ritalin and because his dad was getting remarried. (he was holding on to the fantasy that his dad would some day move back home with him). He was put on Wellbutrin 150 mg every morning. Then when no real improvement was seen he was increased to 100 mg twice a day. He would have severe stomach aches-doubled over and twisting in pain. He was saying how dizzy he was. I finally read the blurp from the pharmacy and saw those were just a few of the many side affects. I called the doctor and he thought it was no big deal to just stop the Wellbutrin. I have talked to other people who thought it was a really big deal to just stop and that this is a medication that one should not take lightly. Have you sister look into other options before this. Doctors tend to perscribe strong medications too easily.
