It sounds like you have my life. Has your sons doctor ever switched him off of the prednisolone and utilized other meds? My son takes a variety of meds threwout the year however we do not get the prednisolone very often any longer as we utilize other meds. I would reccomend speaking with a pediatric lung specialist in your area.
