The answer to your question depends upon whether or not you accept the conventional medical paradigm-its outlook on health, disease and healing-as the most realistic and TRULYT therapeutic outlook or not. Those of us in the alternative field basically do not accept the conventional medical outlook as the most valid, except regarding certain emergency conditions and mechanical (surgical) interventions. We do not question the FACTS of anatomy, physiology and pathology which have been well established-however, in many instances those facts are open to other interpretations than the conclusions arrived at according to the conventional medical paradigm. The Naturopathic paradigm offers a different interpretation of those facts, and in addition considers other elements involving health and healing which have been consistently ignored by the conventional medical outlook. But remember one important fact: if you become actively involved (professionly involved)in any of the alternative therapeutic modalities, you have joined a revolution: you will be in the minority (indeed, a largely persecuted and despised minority by the socially, politically and economically powerful conventional medical establishment) and if you are looking for ease and social acceptance, forget about any form of alternative medicine; if you are looking to REALLY help people (and animals), if your are searching for truth in health and healing, well that’s a different issue-then I would suggest, in answer to your question, choose ND over MD!
