Please go see a doctor. Upper middle abdominal pain that stabs like a knife could be pancreas irritation or gall stone pain, or a number of other things. But whenever you feel that level of pain it is worth at least a call to your doctor to discuss what is going on. If you’ve noticed an association with alcohol it would also be wise to lay off it until you can put your mind at ease about the pain.
