Dear Lee,
From your description, you have a lung nodule that is unexplained by history or examination, and bronchial spasms that your lung doctor is not associating with the nodule. A number of infectious or allergic diseases can cause both lung nodules and bronchial spasm. If you feel uncertain, it seems appropriate to request a referral to a second specialist before undergoing what is a major surgery.
I hope this helps.
