Some modalities used by NDs (ie. botanical medicine, orthomolecular therapies)can be effective if applied rationally. At least that’s what multiple randomized, blinded, placebo controlled studies, as well as epidemiological evidence indicate (for anyone who choses to read the literature).

They also CAN have iatrogenic effects. Sometimes deadly!(Again, reference the literature!)

My concerns are:

1) NDs DON’T always apply therapies rationally. Often choosing superstition over science.

2) ND clinical training IS NOT of sufficient breadth to reliably diagnose and treat many pathologies seen in general practice (Been there, I know!

3) The idea that “because conventional medicine can have iatrogenic effects Natruropathy must be safe and effective”” is inane and ludicrous!
